ITSW Students Live the Chinese Language in Chongqing

Apr 15, 2025

In April 2025, students from Grades 4 to 8 at the International Trilingual School of Warsaw took part in an unforgettable educational and cultural exchange trip to Chongqing, China. Throughout their stay, students visited and collaborated with several primary schools—Gaotanyan, TiantaiGang Yajule, Huashi Zhongxu, YCIS, and Shapingba First Experimental Primary School. They joined lessons, participated in social clubs, practiced the language with Chinese peers, and built new friendships. Outside the classroom, they explored Chongqing’s cultural heritage and modern city life by visiting pandas at the zoo, learning about the origins of Chinese characters at the Three Gorges Museum, cruising along river routes, and experiencing the city’s spectacular transport systems, including the Yangtze River cable car and the famous light rail running through high-rise buildings.

This journey reflects ITSW’s core philosophy: language learning thrives through immersion and experience. At ITSW, Chinese language education begins in nursery at the age of one, guided by native-speaking teachers and supported by a full-immersion programme. Thanks to this early foundation, our students—though growing up in Poland—progress toward near-native fluency. The Chongqing trip stands as a milestone in this journey, giving young learners the chance to live the language they study and deepening their global understanding. ITSW is proud of every student who took part and looks forward to future international exchanges.
