Is a Multilingual Nursery Really a Place Where Young Children Thrive? Myths and Facts

Is Nursery Just About Care?
One of the many misconceptions about a private multilingual nursery is that it’s a place where children only sleep, eat, and are cared for. Another misconception is that education begins only when children enter primary school, and before that, there’s only care.
Nothing could be further from the truth! It’s in a private multilingual nursery that, through daily activities, classes, and play, children develop social skills and build habits that lay the foundation for early learning and a good start to primary school. Children grow up in a positive, safe, and caring environment that supports their harmonious development.
Nursery Is an Important Stage Where Child’s First Social Relationships Begin to Form
We all know that the most important social skills are learned much earlier—during nursery. This is when children discover what it means to share, wait their turn, act honestly, put things away, respect others, apologize, or simply wash their hands. Children learn through play. In a multilingual nursery, your child develops problem-solving skills, planning their activities, building relationships, and coping with small, everyday challenges. Activities and play in a language environment are invaluable in this process.

How Does a Nursery Support Child’s Development of Autonomy and Independence? The Reggio Emilia Approach
Around the age of two, and sometimes even earlier, children experience a great need for autonomy. Our multilingual nursery creates conditions from an early age that allow this independence to develop. The Reggio-Emilia methodology inspires us to nurture children’s natural curiosity and build their developmental potential and the relationships they will build with others. Activities and play at the ITSW multilingual nursery in Warsaw allow for the development and strengthening of these skills.
Activities That Develop Your Little One Every Day
At ITSW, every day is a combination of play, movement, music, and creative experiences that develop little ones on many levels. And all this happens in three languages! We offer activities that support linguistic, emotional, sensory, and motor development, allowing children to grow in an atmosphere of joy, security, and curiosity about the world.

Music Activities
Music supports the development of hearing, rhythm, and speech. Toddlers sing, dance, and learn about instruments, developping sensitivity and self-confidence.
Art Activities
Creative play with paints, crayons, and sensory materials helps children express emotions and develop fine motor skills.
Sport Activities
Exercises, obstacle courses and movement games support coordination and balance and build healthy habits from an early age.
Sensory Activities
Sensory stimulation develops curiosity and attentiveness. Toddlers experience textures, colors, smells, and sounds in a safe environment.
Relaxation Activities
Quiet time helps regulate emotions. Young children need rituals that support well-being and build a sense of security.
Speech Therapy Activities
Elements of speech therapy appear in everyday play—supporting proper speech development, articulation, and communication in multiple languages.
Healthy and Balanced Meals for Your Little One

We always strive to be the best in everything we do for children. That’s why, as cooking was not our strength, we decided long ago to outsource meal preparation and planning to an external, specialized company. We’ve been working with them for many years, ensuring that the food is prepared and delivered in excellent conditions.
Our menu includes traditional dishes for children: vegetables, cereals, dairy , and easily digestible meals tailored to children’s tastes. If your little one requires an elimination diet or a special diet, don’t worry; we tailor meals to your individual needs. A delicious and well-balanced diet guarantees comfort for the child and peace of mind for the parents.
As the catering company specializes in serving private nurseries and preschools, we can be sure that:
- Our meals do not contain highly processed ingredients.
- We do not serve students any beverages other than water.
- We observe children’s eating habits to allow them to try new products and dishes, but we balance this discovery with a tradition of simple, tasty meals.
- Adults decide what children eat (menu) and encourage children to eat, but it is the children who decide how much they want to eat.
- Our toddler menu was developed by dietitians who are fully aware of the enormous impact that the food consumed by young children has on their healthy development, especially in the first years of life.
